What is OCIA?
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), formerly referred to as RCIA, is the process through which adults are welcomed into full communion with the Catholic Church. It is designed for individuals who are:
-
Unbaptized and seeking to become Catholic
-
Baptized in another Christian tradition and interested in becoming Catholic
-
Baptized Catholic but have not received all of the sacraments of initiation (First Eucharist and/or Confirmation)
Through prayer, study, and spiritual formation, participants journey together in faith, learning about the teachings of the Church and deepening their relationship with Christ. OCIA typically culminates in receiving the sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
Whether you’re just beginning to explore the Catholic faith or ready to take the next step, our parish community is here to support you on your journey.
